KAIZEN TOWER
You call it sustainability, we call it common sense.

The Kaizen Tower is a symbol of rebirth, necessary now more than ever due to the peculiar period we are living in. A rebirth characterized by a continuous improvement, just like the japanese concept after which the tower is named: Kaizen.
This mantra expresses our will to bring constant improvement to our business: a day by day growth. Mario Bellucci therefore aims to achieve a constant progressive state, tending not only to a business progressive perspective but to always look at the big picture first, in order to build a better future.

The continuous sustainable innovation we’re aiming at is a step by step journey meant to be the foundation of all our future business policies.
According to the Kaizen philosophy, improvement must be achieved thanks to the contribution of every individual who makes up the collective. Day by day small changes start from within: imperceptible changes if taken individually, but together they create an overall disruptive effect.

THE ARTWORKS

The wonderful murals painted on the four facades of the Kaizen Tower aim to both enhance the urban landscape of our city and to raise the awareness of local citizens.
The artworks show sustainability related topics closer to our hearts: sustainable water and social responsibility management, nature and the achievement of a balanced ecosystem through teamwork.
For this challenging purpose we selected four artists with different distinctive styles that portrayed the themes according to their signature style and personal vision. The color palette has been carefully chosen to recall the one used by the UN for the graphic representation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Sdgs), taken as guiding principles by Mario Bellucci since their establishment.

RAME 13

Ginevra Giovannoni, alias “RAME 13”, started painting from an early age, guided by the wise advice of her grandfather, a painter himself.
Pursuing her passion, she chose to undertake an artistic academic record in Tuscany. The Erasmus year in Seville has been crucial for her growth and inspiration. During that time she experimented with various techniques which marked the beginning of her evolving style and put aside the idea of becoming a cartoonist to fully devote herself to her art.
Once graduated, she began to create non-stop, specializing in masonry and collaborating in the redevelopment of public works in Italy.
Rame 13 is a full-fledged artist capable of adapting her works according to the available surface at hand: on the skin with a tattoo machine or on the walls with a brush.

TESS

The artwork of Rame 13 depicts Madre Natura gently weaving the threads of the world.
Filled with meaning, the mural is closely linked to the themes of craftsmanship and labour, characteristic features of the textile district of Prato for years.
Several other references can be found in her masterpiece, particularly to sustainability and circular economy, issues that now more than ever matter and to which Mario Bellucci has been committed for many years now.
The artwork highlights the company’s commitment to a more sustainable future/strong>, in which textile industry and nature will be closely linked together without ever damaging each other.

ALECT

Alessio Piccini, aka Alect, is a Florentine creative director and illustrator, with a background in street art and a passion for murals and art installations.
A friendly and welcoming tone is created by the artist’s soft and harmonious distinctive style, capable of lightening the strong social messages covered by the artwork.
His work as a designer ranges from visual videos, posters and advertising campaigns.
He teaches Visual Language at IED and he is part of the Type Thursday organization, a world event dedicated to typography.
His illustrations can be found on the walls of Bologna during the Cheap Festival or in independent magazines such as Inquieto, Frisco Speak and Lungarno.
In 2011 he was selected for the Pictoplasma exhibition in Paris.

NATURAL FLOW

In his artwork the artist represents the element of water as an energetic flood sinuously flowing over the whole height of the mural, intertwined with the second energetic stream that symbolizes nature in all its manifestations.
Embodied by sheeps, the animal element recalls the distinctive raw material for textile manufacturing.
Two clasped hands take up the mural’s central section, symbols of teamwork and collaboration between man and nature.
Clear reference to our company colours, the hands colouring is a close echo of our Woven and Jersey textiles, whose duality make up one of the greatest strengths of Mario Bellucci.
The artwork shows the company’s attention towards the precious “blue gold” resource and environmental sustainability, placing particular emphasis on ecosystemic collaboration.

URTO

Urto‘s career can be traced back to when he was in eighth grade and painted on the rolling shutter of a dance school.
Urto‘s distinctive features are the depictions of the blue sea and the portraits of fishes: “Fresh water, salt water, rivers, lakes, oceans… No matter how far away they are, they are perfectly capable of communicating without using letters or anger; better than humans”.
Every time Urto leaves a mark, he leaves behind a piece of himself: colored or silver, neat or fast, on metal or cement.
He has the extraordinary ability to see everything around him like a blank page, ready to be filled.

UBI MAIOR MINOR CESSAT

“Where the greater is there, the lesser ceases”. This latin quote refers to the “law of the jungle”, a dominating concept in the animal world.
And it doesn’t just apply to flora and fauna interactions: humans have always dominated nature and animals alike, improperly exploiting their position of power.
That’s why Urto has depicted a human having leaves and placid fishes as hair: not only to symbolize the Fashion Victims directly or indirectly reaped by the fashion industry, but also to represent humans as the protectors of the sea and nature.
The human element thereby becomes both spokesman of the earth’s ecosystem interaction and keen supporter of nature and animals.

MR.G

Giuseppe Di Carlo, aka “Mr G.”, has been using walls as drawing boards for as long as he can remember.
He loves contemporary art and abstractionism and has a strong link with Northern European creativity.
With his paintings Mr G depicts the false disorder of creativity and through words and figures alike he represents thoughts, fears, ideals and concrete facts.
He draws the metropolitan life, result of a careful study of contemporaneity.
His painting is constantly evolving, and painting is essential to him: when he is not working on a project, he thinks about what he can create next.

THE SOCIAL FLORAL CLIMB

This artwork best expresses the philosophy after which our beloved Kaizen Tower is named: the social floral climb fully portrays the distinctive slow but constant growth of the Japanese concept.
The floral element is portrayed in the act of climbing the wall, slowly ascending up to the point of maximum height, perfectly depicting the tiring but constant rise necessary to achieve any objective.
The artist’s mural aims to create a strong visual impact and feelings in those who approach the work through geometric shapes, bright colors and abstract elements both.
The artist wanted to emphasize the importance of the social dimension of the environmental matter by representing a man who lives in symbiosis with Nature: intertwined with it as the elements of the work are.

COLLABORATIONS

Calimaia Collettivo is a network of young graphic professionals and illustrators that organizes creative events such as workshops, collective exhibitions and live painting. Collettivo to them means exchanging and collaboration: they aim at creating a meeting point within creative professionals and to give them visibility through events.
Another feature that makes them stand out is their multidisciplinary skills: from workshops aimed at children to the setting up of a store, from live painting to curating an exhibition.
